Kalonfleur Jewelry Care Guide – Cleaning & Maintaining Silver-Plated Jewelry

Professional Cleaning Procedures

  • Tarnish Removal
Use a professional silver polishing cloth (we recommend the dual-sided Sunshine Cloth). Follow these guidelines:
✔️ Always wipe in a single direction with minimal pressure (let the cloth’s weight do the work).
✔️ Limit to 3 gentle passes per square centimeter area.
✔️ Replace the cloth immediately if discoloration occurs (dedicate one cloth per jewelry piece).

    Critical Notes:

  • Avoid tissues/paper towels – their fibers can cause 0.2-0.5μm scratches.
  • Reusing dirty cloths may lead to micron-level pitting from residual abrasives.
  • Deep Maintenance Routine
    Perform monthly:
① Handle jewelry with clean cotton gloves to prevent oil transfer.
② Soak in pH-neutral jewelry cleaner (pH 6.5-7.5) for 90 seconds.
③ Dry with a high-density microfiber cloth (1200 GSM or higher).
④ Store in a sealed anti-tarnish pouch (include silica gel packs for humidity control).

Usage Precautions
 Strictly prohibited:

  • Showering or swimming while wearing jewelry – soap residues create a hydrophobic film that attracts pollutants.
  • Bleach-based cleaners – sodium hypochlorite causes metal embrittlement through oxidation.
  • Toothpaste or baking soda – calcium carbonate abrasives degrade plating at 2-5μm per cleaning cycle.
